Open your OnPoint link in your phone’s browser — Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android.
Tip: open the receipt email on your phone so the link opens on the device you’ll actually bill from.
This is the important step — it turns OnPoint into a real app icon, makes it work offline, and protects your saved data.
iPhone (Safari): tap the Share button (the square with an arrow), scroll down, tap “Add to Home Screen,” then Add.
Android (Chrome): tap the ⋮ menu, then “Add to Home screen” (or “Install app”), then confirm.
Now launch OnPoint from the new icon, not the browser tab.
The first time it opens, create your account or sign in — that keeps your work backed up and synced across your devices.
On first launch, a quick interactive tour points out the three things you need. Follow it, or tap Skip — you can replay it any time from Settings → Help.
Tap “+ add” and enter a short code — ACME, SMITH, whatever you’ll recognize. Add as many as you like.
Want full client names and billing addresses on your bills? Open Settings, and for each client add a full name and tap the pin to add an address. Your short codes stay on the capture screen; the full details appear on Word and PDF bills.
Tap a client, then tap a tenth — 0.1 is six minutes, and taps add up, so tap 0.2 twice for 0.4. Running a live call? Tap Start timer; it keeps counting even if you close the app, and rounds to the nearest tenth.
Add a short description (tap a quick phrase to fill common wording fast), then tap Save entry.
Tap Export for billing, choose a date range, and add your hourly rate and starting invoice number. The live total shows what the bill comes to before you generate anything.
Then export a polished Word, PDF, or Excel bill, copy the text straight into your billing software, or email it — all from the same screen.
In Settings → Bill header, add your firm name, address, phone, email, payment terms, and an optional logo. These appear at the top of every Word and PDF bill, so it’s worth doing once up front.
OnPoint keeps your work on your device and synced to your account, so signing in on a new device brings it back. A manual backup is still worth keeping as a belt-and-suspenders — and it’s the way to move data without signing in.
In Settings you can set a daily capture goal (the ring that fills as you log hours), pick an accent color, and toggle the save sound & haptic. Small things, but they make daily capture feel a little more rewarding.
Email support@onpointtimeentry.com — a real person reads it, and we’re easy to deal with. Whether it’s a question, a snag, or an idea for the app, we’d like to hear it.
